Mr. Mussaly is the owner of Nasi Kukus Jalan Ipoh (nasi kuku = steamed rice)....hes been serving customers for well over 4 years now. As the stall is just in-front of his flat in Jalan Ipoh (hence the name Nasi Kukus Jalan Ipoh lor).
As for the taste, the DNA it could be traced back to Qimi Nasi Kukus of Kota Bharu Kelantan....the kaw curry gravy/kuah the crispy on the outside / tender in the inside 'fried spiced chicken'.
And what is great bout our famous 'Malaysian Stall' scenes is that it provides delicious dishes for a paltry amount of money. With that being said....the same applies to Nasi Kukus Jalan Ipoh...you can get a plate of nasi kukus and the fried chicken for only a meager RM4.00. Yup believe it! Remember this is Jalan Ipoh in Kay El and not in Ipoh, Perak meh!
The stall is very clean and the ingredients are always kept fresh....a truly 1Malaysia stall, you can see people of all creed going over there....the fried spiced chicken is one of the favorites amongst the customers. You can regularly get 'jaga badan' ladies insisted on the 'chicken only'...'nasi tamau nanti gemuk' is what they always say...I dunno....
Thats it for now...will be updating soon...maybe we can do a research on the origins of Nasi Kukus in Malaysia....any takers?
Selamat Datang
