In my limited knowledge of traditional crafts, parang/golok making has quite a considerable following throughout Malaysia...and it is growing stronger and stronger every day, you see - having a good looking parang/golok does not mean its only for the aesthetics....but its a practical cutting tool just like a big sized knife or a chopper.
If you are living in a Malaysian community and happens to like the 'gotong-royong' thingy than you'll probably know what I mean. Its a 'guy thing' to have a golok or two - let me paint this scenario, its in the middle of a school holidays and one of your cousins are getting married....
